A high-gloss polished concrete floor for a demanding Shoreditch lobby — installed twice, because the first substrate wasn't good enough for us to sign off.
The floor sits in the entrance and reception of a commercial building on Great Eastern Street, working around a live, occupied programme. The existing substrate was poor — not a base we were willing to polish over and stand behind.
So we broke it out and re-installed it properly, laid a polished concrete topping and ground and polished it to a high-gloss finish beneath the timber-lined ceiling. Every stage ran around the building staying open.
A mirror-flat, high-polish floor that reads as the most considered surface in the building — and a demanding end client satisfied.
