The Pump House barn, Pinner

100mm concrete, exposed aggregateBarn floor

A polished exposed-aggregate concrete floor under the timber frame of a Grade II listed barn — the floor that started a two-barn story.

A Grade II listed barn at the Pump House in Pinner. The brief was a hard-wearing, characterful floor that could hold its own beneath the original oak structure.

We laid a 100mm concrete floor and ground it to expose the aggregate — a rich scatter of stone polished up to a soft sheen, warm against the timber above.

A floor with real depth and character — and the one the neighbouring barn’s owners saw before commissioning their own.
